Dunnottar Parish Church has a proud history of Christian witness dating back to the 5th century when the earliest church
of that name was built on this site. The parish is on the south side of the town of Stonehaven and includes the Old Town
with its harbour, part of the new town, a substantial rural area and the world famous Dunnottar Castle. The church building
is just outside the town in the adjoining woodland.
Within this historic setting Dunnottar Church serves the spiritual needs of a wide variety of people, bringing together
country and town dwellers whose families have worshipped at Dunnottar for generations alongside a large proportion of
"inabootcomers" from all over Britain and beyond, with a shared pride in our church and its achievements.
Looking toward the future the Church at Dunnottar expects to continue to offer its people opportunities for worship and
witness in God's service and to share equally with all other Christian churches in the Stonehaven area in preaching the
Gospel and ministering to the people of God.
Up to date information will be found in our church magazine “Spotlight” and special news of our church upgrade
can be found on the New Century Project page.
Appeal - "Fish and Chips" babies need you
Newborn babies, many suffering from Aids, are being called "Fish and Chips" babies because many are sent home from
hospital wrapped in newspaper for warmth. They need your help.
In order to assist those tiny babies we are asking you to knit a small jumper which will be sent to Africa to keep
little children warm. Average knitters can complete a jumper in an evening. It’s an easy, quick pattern.
If you can help, please download the
simple pattern here.
Please hand in your contribution on a Sunday morning at the Church, or on a Thursday morning at St Bridget's.
Spotlight
Spotlight is the monthly parish magazine for the Dunnottar congregation. The latest edition
will be posted here when an electronic copy becomes available.
